Are We Really Giving it All We've Got?

"No man has the right to be an amateur in the matter of his physical training. It is a shame for a man to grow old without seeing the beauty and strength of which his body is capable."

~Socrates

If a gifted and hardworking student really understands the conceptual basis and physical foundations of WT, they eventually reach a point where they can figure out a "true" WT response to various kinds of situations. WT isn't entirely an art that is handed-down. It is equally an art that is re-discovered and further developed by each generation.

If WT does deteriorate, it won't be because some "secrets" have been withheld. It will be due to a failure of the next generation to study and train hard enough to internalize what they've been taught and to use their intellect as well as their bodies to carry this inheritance forward.

We're all guilty of half-assing it from time to time. The thing is, don't let it become a habit.

Do something to improve your skills and your body every day so that years from now you'll look back on a job well done instead of regretting that you never really went for it.
